Curatorial introduction

Animate Mechanics gives lamps and objects the posture of living organisms, tools or articulated machines. Legs, joints, antennae, cones and directional heads make the pieces appear poised to move. Visible pivots, skeletal supports and extended limbs turn adjustment and structure into part of the design language. The collection introduces narrative and character without becoming decorative in a conventional sense, offering functional objects with a strong sculptural and almost performative presence.
